What’s next for Windows?

Windows 11 was officially announced and launched in 2021. Windows 10 was first released in July 2015, about two years after Windows 8.1.

What Is the Date for the Next Windows Event?

We don’t yet know when the next Window event will happen.

The Windows 11 event took place virtually on June 24, 2021, at 11 am ET. Windows experts had been patiently waiting for a significant update to the operating system, but rumors about the timing were never precise.

What Was Announced?

The June event showcased a new version of Windows called Windows 11. It features improvements to the interface, a new Start menu, and more. As of early 2023, the adoption rate for Windows 11 is around 15 percent, according to StatCounter.

In March 2019, ZDNet reported that Windows 10 was on more than 800 million devices. This number falls short of its 2015 goal of getting the operating system on 1 billion devices within two or three years. Some of that discrepancy between expectations and reality could be related to the demise of Windows Phones.

The company says Windows 10 will reach its “end of life” in 2025.
