Windows 10 version 1803 (April 2018 Update) support for Enterprise, Education, and IoT Core editions was supposed to end on November 10, 2020, but now, Microsoft has decided to extend the support for another six months.
Considering the ongoing health global impact, the software giant has decided to extend the end-of-service date through May 11, 2021. This means that businesses still running the April 2018 Update will continue to receive monthly quality updates until the new deadline to allow organizations to focus on “business continuity in the midst of the global pandemic.”
Security updates for Windows 10 1803 will be available via the standard servicing channels, including Windows Update, Windows Server Update Services, and the Microsoft Update Catalog. “You will not need to alter your current update management workflows” – Microsoft says.
Although organizations now have even more time to continue running version 1803, after May 11, 2021, computers will no longer receive security updates, as such it’s recommended to take action and start planning an update process for devices nearing the end of service.
