Microsoft is making Windows 10 22H2 (2022 Update) fully available starting November 18, 2022. Although version 22H2 officially launched on October 18, 2022, the update was unavailable for many hardware and software configurations. However, after several weeks, the company has now entered the final phase of the rollout and quietly updated its health dashboard page to reflect that the update has now been “designated for broad deployment” status.

The new status means that the operating system does not have significant issues and should be compatible with most computers. However, it doesn’t mean you won’t run into problems during and after the installation since there is always a chance of bugs and other issues.

If your computer is still on version 20H2, 21H1, or 22H2, the update process won’t take a lot of time since this is a small cumulative update since it only increases the version number to build 19045.xxxx and delivers minor improvements.

This new version of Windows 10 doesn’t include anything interesting as part of the new improvements. Windows 10 22H2 only brings some fixes and small feature updates (for businesses). However, it’s still important to install version 22H2 to maintain your devices secure and supported to keep receiving updates.

Since the update is now fully available, you should now be able to upgrade from an older version without significant problems. You can complete this task by going to Settings > Update & Security > Windows Update, clicking the Check for updates button, clicking the “Stay on Windows 10 for now” option (if the device is compatible with Windows 11), and clicking the “Download and install” option.

You can always download Windows 10 22H2 manually using the Update Assistant to force the upgrade. In addition, it’s also possible to use the Media Creation Tool to perform an in-place upgrade without losing your files. However, using either of these tools will require reinstalling, which is not necessary if your current setup isn’t experiencing any issues.

Alternatively, it’s possible to upgrade with a clean install of version 22H2, which can help to improve system performance and fix existing problems. Also, you can download the ISO file with version 22H2 to perform an in-place upgrade or clean install from USB.
