Although, the name “Anniversary Update” is a big hint, Microsoft never officially said exactly when the new version of the operating system will reach to customers. Today a new report from Thurrott says that Microsoft officials “have acknowledged” that the development of Windows 10 Anniversary Update is scheduled to be completed in mid-July.
While the company is proactively working to meet its deadline, there could always be something that could cause a delay, as such the schedule could change in the future. However, the original release date of Windows 10 was on July 29th, it’s only logical to expect the “Anniversary Update” to release the same day, which in 2016 is a Friday.
If you have been following the development of the Anniversary Update, you probably already know many of the features and changes Microsoft is planning to release later this summer. Specially, if you had a chance to test Windows 10 build 14328 and build 14316, which introduced a slew of new improvements and features like an update Start menu, new features for Cortana, Action Center, and in the Settings app, and Windows Ink.
Even though, there is time to see more features coming in later Insider builds for the Redstone Development Branch, as we get closer to the release target, Microsoft will begin to slow down introducing new features and focus of fixing bugs to get a stable version for the public release.
