On April 30, Microsoft will begin the slow rollout of the first major feature update of Windows 10 in 2018, which is officially known as “April 2018 Update” (version 1803). However, initially it will be available as a manual download, and on May 8 (Patch Tuesday), the Windows 10 April 2018 Update will be available through Windows Update automatically.

The new version brings a slew of minor changes, and a few important features, mostly to help you get the work done quick and get on with your life. The feature update, was formerly known as the Spring Creators Update, and after its 20 days delay, it’ll be available for download on Monday April 30, 2018. (Usually, Microsoft makes updates available after 2PM Eastern Time.)

In a new series of videos, Microsoft is now touting the most important features to get you started with the Windows 10 April 2018 Update.

Timeline

This is perhaps the biggest feature you’ll find after installing version 1803. Timeline is a new feature that allows you to go back in time and resume activities you’re working in the past. It’s a feature part of Task View, and that works across devices (as long as you’re using the same Microsoft account).

Microsoft Edge

Starting with this new release, Microsoft Edge is getting a number of refinements to level its functionality with other browsers, including autofill payment details, integration with Timeline, mute tabs option, changes on its reading experience, Fluent Design tweaks, and more.

Focus Assist

Quiet Hours has been renamed to Focus Assist, and it’ll help you to stop notifications from distracting you when work needs to be done. The feature has been improved significantly to work automatically with priority, rules, and more.

Dictation

Windows 10 version 1803 also updates its dictation feature that allows you to write up content more quickly and naturally using your voice.

Alongside the features that Microsoft wants you to know, the April 2018 Update includes a bunch of other features and changes. Actually, here’s absolutely everything you need to know. Also, you can check out the 10 best features here, and the 7 best hidden features here.
