Microsoft released Windows 10 Technical Preview build 9860 and while the company noted several of the new additions, a few of the new features didn’t get mentioned. This is the case of Battery Saver that already shows up in the PC settings page, and it’s basically a new feature aimed to help mobile devices get most use of battery life.
Battery Saver works by limiting background activity and dynamically adjusting hardware settings to conserve battery. The new feature turns on automatically using rules (e.g., turn it on when the battery reaches 20%), but you can also turn it on manually with the “Right now” switch.
Although the feature to conserve battery popped up in PC setting “Automatic Rules” appears grayed out, meaning that it’s not fully baked in the operating system.
This feature seems like a small change, but it can make a real difference, when you are in tight schedule to finish a work related task and a power source isn’t close or when you’re a traveling.
