Windows 10 build 10122 is now rolling out to Windows Insiders via the Fast ring of updates. The new preview brings a more stable and polished version of the operating system, and it includes various fixes and changes to the Start menu, Continuum, Microsoft Edge browser, among other changes. However, because the build has been released to the Fast ring there is a number of bugs and fewer workarounds, such as the case of frequent crashes in the Edge browser if Windows 10 is running on an AMD graphics system.

Microsoft is working on a solution for this problem, but it is recommending users to avoid installing this build if they’re using an AMD graphic card.

Beside the big known issue, Microsoft warns that Windows 10 build 10122 has a number of other known issues that everyone should be aware of before installing.

Below, you’ll find a list with all the known issues in this particular build:

  • PCs with AMD GPUs will experience frequent crashes in Microsoft Edge.
  • Upgrading to this build on certain PCs may fail and roll back to the previously installed build with error 0x80070057 – 0x20007. This is a bug where too many device INFs are being migrated and hitting an internal limit. Possible workaround is to use Disk Cleanup to clean up system files and choose Device driver packages, Previous Windows installations and Temporary Windows installation files. You may also need to remove unnecessary peripherals and remove them from Device Manager and try the upgrade again.
  • In this build there is a bug that may cause issues with Cortana speech. If you are experiencing problems with speech recognition, or are getting errors when trying to speak to Cortana, please visit this thread on the Windows Insider Program forum for assistance in recovering from this bug.

In build 10122, we are starting to finally see that the number of known issues is getting reduce compared to previous builds, but there are still huge problems to solve.
