Microsoft is now rolling out Windows 10 build 19042.782, as the update KB4598291, for devices running version 20H2 enrolled in the Release Preview Channel and Beta Channel of the Windows Insider Program. This update preview bundles a slew of fixes and improvements that Microsoft plans to roll out in the next Patch Tuesday release, during the second week of February.
According to the announcement, the update KB4598291 bumps the version number to build 19042.782, and according to the announcement, it enables administrators to disable standalone Internet Explorer using Group Polic and configure some IE Mode policies through mobile device management (MDM).
This cumulative update also fixes many issues regarding Universal C Run-time Library (UCRT), unexpected User Account Control (UAC) dialog box, copying links from the Share menu, and device stop responding when in tablet mode or playing games in full-screen mode.
In addition, Windows 10 20H2 also addresses problems with opening documents from the desktop, File Explorer, BitLocker, user profile, blank lock screen after a device wakes up from hibernation, smart card credentials when connecting to a domain, memory leak with the LSASS.exe process, an issue that prevents the Start menu, Cortana, and tiles pinned to the Taskbar from opening, and much more.
