Latest statistic data from NetApplications unveils that Windows 10 has surpassed over five percent of the operating system market during the month of August. According to the data, during the first month of being released, the new operating system is now running on over 5.21 percent of all desktop computers in the market.
Previously, the company revealed that Windows 10 has surpassed the 75 million install mark in less than four weeks after the official release, which already signaled that the operating system was off to an excellent start.
Furthermore, Microsoft data points out that there are over 1.5 billion people running Windows and the 5.21 percent of that total results on 78.15 million, as such it’s likely that Windows 10 may have packed over three million installs in just a few days.
Now, the new web browser for Windows 10, Microsoft Edge, is a totally different story, as the market research firm confirms that only 2.03 percent of people are using the new internet software. And perhaps, there is a good reason, Microsoft Edge is in its early days, it’s headed in the right direction, but it lacks of key features, such as support for extensions and touch gestures for mobile devices. In addition, it’s hard to take a bite of the browser market, when Mozilla Firefox and Google Chrome still take a big portion of the market, and that goes without saying that Internet Explorer still is one of the most used web browsers.
