Microsoft has already rolled out around four previews of the Windows 10 Redstone 4 update due in 2018, but those builds have been only available through the Fast ring using the Skip Ahead option.
And now that the Windows 10 Fall Creators Update is finalized and ready to ship on October 17, 2017, the company is announcing that in the coming days is planning to start making Redstone 4 builds in the standard Fast ring.
This means that if you want to stay in the Windows 10 Fall Creators Update, it’s now time to gracefully opt out of the Windows Insider Program to prevent your machine from getting new builds that may include bugs and other issues that may affect your experience.
How to opt out of the Windows Insider Program
If you want to remove your device from the program or select a different ring, you can do so now without having to reinstall Windows 10.
- Open Settings.
- Click on Update & Security.
- Click on Windows Insider Program.
- Click the Stop Insider Preview builds button.
- Opt out of the Windows Insider Program
- Click the Keep giving me builds until the next Windows release. Depending on when you’re trying to opt out of the program, you may also see the option “Stop Insider builds completely.”

Alternatively, you can also move to the Slow or Release Preview ring to stay in the Windows 10 Fall Creators Update.
