Microsoft seems to be planning to release its next major update of Windows 10 (Creators Update) in March 2017. This is according to a reference of “Windows 10 Version 1703” found in the latest Insider preview that has been first discovered by Twitter user WalkingCat in the latest test version of the operating system.
The number “1703” refers to the year and month of the release, as Microsoft has previously used the same notation for the Anniversary Update, which was referred as “1607” indicating a July release, and November Update using the “1511” notation.
Although, the company hasn’t share any specific release date for Windows 10 version 1703 details, there has been a number of test preview revealing some of the features and improvements coming next year.
Some of the new changes include, internal improvements, an updated Start menu and apps, and placeholders coming back to OneDrive as On-Demand Sync. The company is also planning to bring a new blue light reduction feature, and more improvements to Cortana.
Alongside the Windows 10 version 1703, Microsoft is also working on a Windows 10 Redstone 3, which is likely to arrive in late 2017, but it’s yet unclear what features and changes the company is planning for that major update.
