Although Windows 10 version 1709 (Fall Creators Update) support cycle ended for the Home and Pro editions last year, the Enterprise, Education, and IoT Enterprise editions of Windows 10 were expected to reach their end of service in April 14, 2020, but now, Microsoft has decided to extend support for another six months.
Due to the health concerns and impact on businesses because of COVID-19 (coronavirus), to avoid adding extra burden having to deploy a new feature update, Microsoft has decided to extend support of the Fall Creators Update until October 13, 2020. The new end of support date means that companies still running the older release of Windows 10 will continue to receive quality and security updates for another six months through Windows Update, Windows Server Update Services, and the Microsoft Update Catalog. The extension is automatically, and you will not need to alter your current update management workflows.
While Microsoft is extending the support for version 1709, the company is also advising organizations to switch to the Windows Update for Business to receive updates even faster.
