Windows 10 version 1903, May 2019 Update, is expected to release to the public in late May, and while the new feature update should install without issues on devices already running any release of Windows 10, Microsoft is making changes to the minimum storage requirements.
According to an updated support document, the company reveals that starting with the May 2019 Update, the desktop version of Windows 10 “must include a storage” of 32GB or greater for the 32-bit and 64-bit version.
This is around 12GB more storage than the previous 20GB minimum requirement.

These are the minimum hardware requirements starting with the May 2019 Update:
- Processor: 1GHz or faster CPU or System on a Chip (SoC)
- Memory: 1GB for 32-bit or 2GB for 64-bit
- Hard drive space: 32GB for 64-bit or 32-bit
- Graphics: DirectX 9 or later with WDDM 1.0 driver
- Display: 800×600
While the official support document shows the 32GB storage requirement for 32-bit and 64-bit versions, the official requirements for Windows 10 page only shows the new minimum space for the 64-bit version.
