• Windows 11 receives build 25145 with new features and changes.

  • And it enables OneDrive usage details to the Accounts settings.
  • This flight also fixes a bunch of bugs.

Microsoft has released the Windows 11 build 25145 for devices enrolled in the Dev Channel of the Windows Insider Program. This preview brings some new features and improvements that we expect to arrive with version 23H2.

Build 25145 for Windows 11, according to the announcement, introduces an update for Narrator Braille driver support, OneDrive storage usage and subscription details to the Settings app, and a new policy to manage the password for the Administrator local account. Of course, this is in addition to the fixes and improvements also shipping with build 25145.

Narrator Braille driver support

Starting with this flight, Windows 11 will allow Braille devices to continue working while switching between Narrator and third-party screen readers as Narrator will automatically change Braille drivers.

Accounts settings

In addition to showing the Microsoft 365 subscription information in the Accounts section of the Settings app, in this release, the page will also show details about OneDrive Standalone 100GB subscription information. You will see OneDrive storage usage, billing, and payment method details as part of the information.

Local Administrator Password Solution

Windows 11 build 25145 also makes the legacy Local Administrator Password Solution (LAPS) a native part of the system, allowing you to manage LAPS products. For example, you can extend the Active Directory schema, add permissions on your computer Organizational Unit, add new LAPS Group Policy Objects, and more.

Suggested Actions

Suggested Actions, a feature that brings up an inline menu to create a calendar event or make a phone call when you copy a date, time, or phone number to the clipboard, is now available for testers in the United States, Canada, and Mexico.

App permissions

Microsoft is rolling out the App permissions settings to everyone.

According to the company, the feature allows every Microsoft customer to view the app usage history. The feature gives users seven-day history of resource access for Location, Camera, Microphone, Phone Calls, Messaging, Contacts, Pictures, Videos, Music library, Screenshots, and apps through the Settings experience.

You can find this new information under Settings > Privacy & security > App permissions.

  • Narrator will now read the dialog that opens when uninstalling an app from its context menu in Start and those options correctly.

  • The animation when selecting the More button in Start’s Recommended section in right-to-left (RTL) languages should now appear correctly.

  • Taskbar

  • When dismissing Notification Center using your keyboard, its closing animation will now show correctly.

  • Fixed a couple of crashes that some Insiders were experiencing in the last few builds when opening the Wi-Fi section of Quick Settings, or after connecting or disconnecting from networks in the Wi-Fi section in Quick Settings.

  • Fixed an issue that was causing the Wi-Fi option in Quick Settings and the Wi-Fi section in Settings to sometimes take a few seconds to appear.

  • Using touch to rearrange the items in Quick Settings when in edit mode should no longer lead to Quick Settings unexpectedly dismissing sometimes.

  • Added the SOM currency sign (U+20C0) to the Courier New font family.

  • Pressing CTRL + Page Up and CTRL + Page Down should work again now to navigate through pages in Task Manager.
