Here is a reminder for those who purchased a new Windows 7 PC between June 2nd, 2012 and January 31st, 2013. Microsoft is ending on Thursday, February 28th, the Windows Upgrade Offer and you have until then to register and get the promo code to purchase the Windows 8 Pro Upgrade digital download for $14.99. After you received code, you should redeem it immediately as the promo code will also expire on February 28th.

However, if you aren’t ready to jump to Windows 8, you should at least make the purchase and create a DVD or USB installation media, which will allow you to install the operating system at a later time.

This is definitely an offer you shouldn’t let it get away, because after Thursday you’ll have to pay full price for Windows 8 Pro upgrade, which currently is $199.99 (but if you shop around, you just might be able to get it for a lower price) and $119.99 for Windows 8 (core) edition.

Now, if you are a student, this is a different story, because several weeks ago Microsoft started a program that allows students in the U.S. (and many countries becoming available pretty soon) to get the upgrade version of Windows 8 Pro for $69.99, still not $14.99, but it’s a lot better than paying $199.99.
