This is a good news if you are one of those kids who always build their own PCs. Microsoft is setting the pricing for Windows 8 system builder to be under $100 bucks. This news comes about a month after the software giant unveiled changes to the Windows license agreement, which also included a modification that will allow people to buy the same Windows OEM version as PC manufactures using the Personal Use License for System Builder license.
This report comes from ZDNet.com and it also notes that Windows 8 version will start just below $100. On the other hand Windows 8 Pro will be a little more expensive, around $20 to $40 higher.
Moreover, the article also points out that the current price for Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit system builder version is only $90 — this is about $39 less from the previous price, and Windows 7 Professional 64-bit system builder version now runs about $130, which is about $50 cheaper from its previous price.
As we previously published, the software giant continues with the plan of offering retail box of Windows 8 upgrade for $69.99 at launch on October 26th — Price that will not change until January 31st, 2013 –. A downloadable upgrade version will also be available for $39.99, or for $14.99 for those users who purchased a new PC and registered since June 2nd, 2012.
