Microsoft is on the works to change the iconic Windows flag logo that has been part of the brand for more than two decades, in the upcoming release of the operating system. With the download day for the Consumer Preview getting closer, Windows 8 will switch the famous colorful flag that all of us are used to see and recognize, for a new flat Metro style version.
The traditional red, green, blue, and yellow wavy flag logo will be replaced with a monochrome, flattened, angled looking, more like a real window. The new Metro style flag will show up in the Charms Bar, and also is expected that the old logo may also be replaced in other sections of Windows 8.
This is another bold move from the software maker, together with the new Metro style design and the removal of the Start (Orb) button from the Taskbar. All this changes are attached to the “Windows reimagined” campaign, and expect even more changes throughout the year, on the way that Microsoft will push-out the new operating system.
