Mobile phones are definitely one of the best inventions of this century. They help us out in so many ways along with providing entertainment. But not everyone is appreciative of them being so available. Performing artists are starting to demand you “lock down” your phone in order to enter the arena. Would you lock down your phone to attend a concert?
You can’t blame them. You want people to enjoy your show, but they’re busy posting selfies of themselves to social media, chatting with their friends through text, and sometimes even playing Pokemon Go.
While Rihanna not-so-politely asked her concertgoers to put their phones away and stop playing Pokemon Go, and Adele got angry at fans for filming her concert on their phones, some other performers, such as Rihanna, want a more strict rule.
They have begun using special pouches that put your phone in lockdown. They’re not going to trust you to turn it off or put it in airplane mode. You insert your phone in the pouch and then are allowed to keep it with you so that it’s not out of your hands. If you need to use the phone, you can go outside to have a security guard open the pouch for you.
Would this method bother you? If your phone was locked up in one of these pouches so that you couldn’t use it unless you left, would you get upset? Would you prefer to use this method as long as you’re able to keep your phone on your person? Or would you just prefer not to go to concerts as long as your phone is being kept from you?
