Microsoft releases Xbox One June update as preview and updates its Xbox app for Windows 10 with a bunch of new features. While Xbox users usually expect big changes to arrive to the game console for the June update, Microsoft is focusing on improving the Xbox app for Windows 10 and Xbox One will only get additional support for digital TV tuner in more countries.

Xbox app for Windows 10

Friends updates: In the new update, now it’s much easier to add friends, group them as favorites and share your real name from the app. You can also report or block people from the app.

Game DVR: You can now use the keyboard shortcut Windows + G to open the Game Bar to record, take screenshots, and a lot more. Now, you can also view and manage your game clips saved in the cloud from the Xbox app by selecting Game DVR / Shared.

Turn On/Off your console: Xbox app has been updated to offer users the ability to power on and off the game console from your Windows 10 device, but of course, this is limited to your local network.

Xbox One streaming to Windows 10 test

Microsoft is also including a new testing streaming feature for Xbox One owners to test game streaming from Xbox One to Windows 10 PCs. The company is asking Windows Insiders for help to collect information, so that the company can provide the best streaming experience using this feature.

Performing the test is easy, connect your Xbox One to your Windows 10 device using the Xbox app. Go to Connect, select your console and choose Connect, now click Test streaming to anonymously send the diagnostic data to Microsoft.

Xbox One update
