Microsoft is ready to let people stream Xbox One games to Windows 10 PCs. On June 15, 2015, an official Microsoft staff has published a new Xbox forums entry announcing that Xbox One Preview member can start testing Game Streaming to PCs running Windows 10.
The new feature is part of the Xbox app the company has released for Windows 10 and it allows users running the latest preview of Xbox One software to control the console remotely.
The game streaming feature has been designed to play games remotely within the limits of a local network on a Windows 10 device. However, this feature doesn’t let other people to take control of the Xbox One to watch Live TV or Netflix during a game streaming session. In fact the console appears “in use” until the streaming is terminated.
Microsoft says that “most Xbox One games” will be available for streaming, some exception are Kinect titles and games that require special hardware not supported on the PC.
In addition, multiplayer and voice change will be supported during the game streaming session, which means that gamers can use any microphone or handset to chat on Xbox Live using a Windows 10 device.
The new feature will support Xbox One and Xbox 360 controllers, but other accessories such as the racing wheels or flight sticks are currently not supported.
At this point, users will have to connect the Xbox One controller via USB, until Microsoft makes the Xbox wireless adapter available later this year to connect the controller wirelessly to a Windows 10 PC. Furthermore, mouse and keyboard peripherals will not be supported to play Xbox One games.
Twitch users should also note that streaming Xbox One games to a Windows 10 device will disable Game DVR during the stream.
