Months after its initial announcement, Apple has finally put the new MagSafe Battery Pack for iPhone 12 up for purchase.

Apple launched the MagSafe Battery Pack on Tuesday, with the new battery pack retailing for $99, or $8.25 a month if financed through the company. 9To5Mac reports that the first deliveries of the new battery extension should start shipping to consumers on July 19.

This is just the latest in a series of MagSafe accessories that Apple has released for the iPhone 12, iPhone 12 mini, iPhone 12 Pro, and iPhone 12 Pro Max. As usual, the MagSafe technology installed in the iPhone 12 is used to connect a charger to the back of the phone, adding an additional 1460 mAh of battery life to the device.

Apple has not said exactly how much time that adds to the battery life of the phone, but it should at least give hardcore users who run out of juice quickly a bit more to work with.

The MagSafe Battery Back arrives with a Lightning cable, but Apple says that users should use a 20-watt USB-C charger for the quickest charging times. Additionally, the pack can be charged by simply leaving it on the iPhone 12 and plugging in the phone. It will then gain its charge through the iPhone via passthrough.

Users can keep track of the current status of their MagSafe Battery Pack from the widget on the phone’s lock screen, as well as in the battery widget included in iOS. Apple also noted that iOS version 14.7 is the minimum requirement for compatibility.
